Features and characters of the individual
It is impossible to miss this tree because its presence and character are so striking. With its short and powerful trunk, and its very broad and round crown, it has guarded the entrance of Drève des Vendanges for at least two centuries. It is firmly rooted in the history and life of the surrounding neighbourhood. Without it, the street’s overall appearance would be marred. It has overseen the birth and life of several generations of the neighbourhood’s inhabitants. In the summer, the street around it changes completely when its dark green and shiny foliage is adorned with golden flowers. Then, in autumn, they turn an orange-brown colour.
