This first terrace served as an access ramp to a small car park in the 90s, but has now made way for a pretty avenue of magnolia trees. Their leaves shine in dark green throughout the year. When you walk underneath their foliage, you’re able to admire the size of the leaves, their oval shape and their rusty grey undersides. These magnolia trees have some other characteristics that jump out at you too (in summer): their giant flowers can be up to 25cm in diameter! The flowers are creamy white and very fragrant. The intense fragrance will make you forget about the large boulevards just outside, immersing you in the atmosphere of the botanical garden.
This band of trees welcomes visitors and sets the tone for the gardens. Each species that grows here has been carefully chosen and planted, all adding to the larger composition.
